WHO'S LEFT? The top remaining targets for PSU in Class of 2014 RYA N   S N Y D E R   | bLUE WHITE ILLUSTrATED SHAWN BOONE DB | 5-10| 174 West Palm Beach, Fla. Dwyer ALEX BOOKSER OT | 6-6 | 295 Mt. Lebanon, Pa. Mt. Lebanon JAMES HENDREN OT | 6-7 | 268 Brookline, Mass. Dexter KIY HESTER Saf. | 6-0 | 201 Wayne, N.J. DePaul Catholic RYAN'S TAKE Boone had excellent things to say following his official visit to PSU. In fact, we believe the Nittany Lions could be the leader. He still has one official visit remaining to Ole Miss in January, but regardless of what happens there, PSU will be one of the two or three schools he decides between. Maryland and N.C. State are also still in it. RYAN'S TAKE Bookser took an official visit to Penn State on Dec. 7 and left without making a verbal commitment, which likely means PSU is out of the picture at this point. He'll also visit Ohio State and Pitt, and he previously visited Tennessee. Many believe the Panthers are the favorite, but Bookser has been tough to read throughout his recruitment. RYAN'S TAKE Hendren is committed to Boston College, but PSU offered a late scholarship on Dec. 9. Hendren said he still maintains his commitment to the Eagles. "I made a commitment to Boston College and I'm not the kind of guy that backs out of that kind of stuff," he said. Bill O'Brien is still expected to pay him a visit at some point this week. RYAN'S TAKE Hester de-committed from Rutgers in early November, which was when Penn State began to make a push. He's still undecided on whether he'll take an official visit to PSU, but the odds of that happening have increased in recent weeks. Michigan State is the current favorite, but he also still plans to visit Miami and Arkansas as well. LOOKING AHEAD TO CLASS OF '15 For the first time, Rivals.com has ranked the top 250 prospects in the Class of 2015. Here are 10 prospects in the Rivals250 whom Penn State has targeted or offered a scholarship and where the Nittany Lions stand early on: 10. MINKAH FITZPATRICK CB | 6-0 | 183 | Jersey City, N.J.| St. Peter's Prep Five-star prospect who holds offer from PSU. Visited for summer camp. 28. STERLING JENKINS OT | 6-8 | 296 | Pittsburgh| Baldwin Michigan is the favorite, while either Ohio State or PSU is second. 68. MARCUS LEWIS CB | 6-1 | 180 | Washington, D.C.| Gonzaga Lewis visited for PSU's game vs. Nebraska, and will likely visit again. 91. RICKY DEBERRY LB/DE | 6-2 | 237 | Richmond, Va.| St. Christopher's Visited PSU twice so far, most recently for the Nebraska game. 107. JOHN REID CB | 5-10 | 175 | Philadelphia, Pa.| St. Joseph's Has been on campus multiple times. PSU is early favorite. 124. RICHIE PETITBON OL | 6-4 | 301 | Washington D.C.| Gonzaga THOMAS HOLLEY DT | 6-4 | 299 Brooklyn, N.Y. Lincoln MELVIN KEIHN LB | 6-3 | 220 Baltimore, Md. Gilman RYAN'S TAKE Holley took an official visit to PSU for its overtime win over Michigan. He has also visited Ohio State and Florida. Holley told the New York Post on Dec. 9 that he's narrowed his list to the Nittany Lions and Gators. BWI still believes that PSU is the current favorite. Proximity to home is big, and Larry Johnson has done an excellent job. RYAN'S TAKE Keihn took an official visit to Penn State Nov. 22-24. He's also considering Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland, with the Hokies appearing to be the favorite. Bill O'Brien and Larry Johnson will meet with Keihn's family at their home Friday, Dec. 13. He'll announce his decision Jan. 2 at the Under Armour All-American Game. Penn State, Alabama, LSU and Maryland make up his early top four. 184. RYAN BATES OL | 6-5 | 285 | Warminster, Pa.| Archbishop Wood Has already made it clear that Penn State is the early favorite. 187. BRANDON WIMBUSH QB | 6-2 | 208 | Jersey City, N.J.| St. Peter's Prep Penn State's No.1 target at quarterback in 2015. Mother is an alum. 206. JORDAN WHITEHEAD DERRICK NNADI DT | 6-1 | 299 Virginia Beach, Va. Ocean Lakes RYAN'S TAKE Nnadi took an official visit to Penn State Dec. 6-8, but he's very difficult to get information from. So it's still tough to determine where PSU truly stands. He'll visit Florida State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Ohio State before deciding. The Hokies are believed to be the favorites, but again, he hasn't opened up to reporters in months. CB | 5-10 | 165 | Monaca, Pa.| Central Valley Has visited PSU. Might be best athlete in western Pennsylvania. 223. NICK CONNER LB | 6-3 | 215 | Dublin, Ohio| Scioto Visted for the Nebraska game. If PSU offers, the Lions will become his favorite. – RYAN SNYDER D E C E m b E r 1 1 , 2 0 1 3 4 b L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . C O m
