MINNESOTA 7 P. M . 7 P. M . | | JAN. 12 JAN. 13 | | PEGULA ICE ARENA PEGULA ICE ARENA | BIG TEN NETWORK Guy Gadowsky knew there would be a learning curve, and there has been. Heading into the Three Rivers Classic in late December, his Nittany Lions had lost six in a row, including four consecutive defeats in the new Pegula Ice Arena. But there's hope. A year ago, Gadowsky's squad struggled through the first two months of its inaugural season before a 5-4 victory over Ohio State on Dec. 29 turned everything around. The Lions went on to win five of their last 10 games, including victories over Michigan State and Wisconsin. It's a new season, and Penn State's program is still in its infancy. But it's also the first year of Big Ten competition, and as was the case last season, PSU is looking to start the new year off right. The first series of 2014 will be a doozy. The Lions host Minnesota Jan. 12-13 in the first Big Ten games to take place at Pegula.
