FO OT BA L L PSU restructures ticket pricing Penn State has adopted a variable pricing structure for its singlegame public football tickets during the 2014 season. Variable pricing determines individual game prices from many factors, including expected demand for that game and will provide more pricing choices for Penn State fans this season. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public in July, with tickets being available for as low as $40 for some games. For a full list of prices by section for the 2014 football season, fans can log onto http://tinyurl.com/kjukcon. Variable pricing is common throughout ticketed sporting events and is used for home football games at some Big Ten schools, including Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Maryland. The university is also using the variable pricing structure for single-game ticket sales to Nittany Lion Club members. Club members will have their own exclusive presale, most likely in May, and will also have access to prices lower than the general public throughout the season. Variable pricing does not affect Nittany Lion Club donations. THE MONTH IN... TWEETS Often overlooked, but a big thanks to Dr. Joyner, President Erickson, and committee for all their hard work during this search. @ADAMBRENEMAN81 (ADAM BRENEMAN) The city of "Brotherly Love" yesterday, the "Steel City" today! Love being home. @COACHJFRANKLIN (JAMES FRANKLIN) Went to the wrong class today. Too embarrassed to get up and walk out so I just rode it out and took some notes. @AWHIPPLE03 (AUSTIN WHIPPLE) OPINIONS That rah-rah stuff is overrated, and we all know it. College football is a business. Big business. And these are real people with real lives we're talking about here, not altruistic ideals. Larry Johnson got a better job, making more money, with a greater chance to win right now. Creating some hard feelings in the Penn State community just so happens to be the price he has to pay for CORY GIGER ALTOONA MIRROR taking it. It's difficult to imagine the Buckeyes being that much better in the recruiting business. Even with Johnson. This might be one of those moves that hurts Penn State more than it helps Ohio State, emotionally, more than on the football field. DONNIE COLLINS THE SCRANTON TIMES-TRIBUNE QUOTES My point of view is there are only so many times a man can turn his cheek and allow things to happen. Coach J being at Penn State for 15-plus years, I know a lot of people who went to Penn State and stayed at Penn State after the scandal stayed because of Coach J. For him not to get a shot at head coach, I felt like that was a slap in DEVON STILL SPEAKING TO THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH the face. ABOUT LARRY JOHNSON'S DEPARTURE Penn State is a special place. I believe in what we did while at Penn State. I think Penn State is in a better spot now than it was two years ago. I think my staff, myself, our players, are very proud of that. I feel like Penn State is a place where you can win national championships and Big Ten championships. BILL O'BRIEN DURING AN APPEARANCE ON ESPN RADIO I remember recruiting in the state of Pennsylvania against Joe, and I thought we were doing pretty good. I walked in and had to show my ID and do everything I possibly could to get into the school. Joe walked in and shut the entire school down. They had an in-school assembly, and I realized I had no chance. I really had no chance. JAMES FRANKLIN ON HIS MEMORIES OF JOE PATERNO
