tional Honor Society with a 5.42 grade- point average on a 5.0 scale, increas- ing his numbers while taking weighted courses. It's little wonder that with such data on and off the field, "Tight End U." was the perfect match for the Windy City native, whose simple motto is "Ev- ery day is a gift." Because Weishar was frequently moved around as an outside or slot re- ceiver in Marist's offense, and because of his height, the Irish staff envisions another potential Tyler Eifert (2009-12) "flex tight end" in their scheme down the road. "They mentioned Tyler Eifert to me quite a bit," Weishar said of the 2013 first-round draft pick. "They see me re- sembling his style of play. It's an honor to be even mentioned in the same sen- tence as Tyler Eifert. "I think that's what they see me as — a guy that can create some mismatches with some linebackers and safeties, go over the top against them and be able to flex out as well as be a true tight end." "He's never complacent with where he is," Dunne said. "He's a guy that when he's become great at something tries to find ways to do it even better." It won't be for just himself, either. ✦ Weishar was named the first-team tight end on the Parade All-America squad. PHOTO COURTESY U.S. ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL
