It's been like presenting a buyer the option of a free new car with either a Mercedes Benz behind door number one, a Lexus behind door number two … or a basic economy car behind door number three. The chasm between the two remaining unbeaten teams (through Feb. 9) and the field was made evident Feb. 2 dur- ing Notre Dame's 88-67 romp at No. 3 Duke. The Blue Devils en- tered the contest 21-1, with the lone defeat coming to UConn (83-61 on Dec. 17). Notre Dame never trailed and dominated the Blue Devils during the 21-point victory, one point less than the Huskies.
