QUOTABLE Brady Hoke's Comments: "Maurice is a big receiver out of Detroit Country Day. He can stretch the field. He's a competitor. He also played basketball, has long arms and can get up and get the ball." Tom Lemming of Prep Football Report: "I liked him a lot, even though the other guys are better-known. Because I give so much praise to Drake Harris, people forget about Ways. He had good size, speed and hands. The receiving corps is going to be outstanding." Why Ways Chose Michigan: "As soon as I met the coaches, I felt at home. I feel so comfortable up there. The coaches really care about me off the field, as a person and as a young man. It has been my dream since I was 7 years old. My first game was a Michigan-Ohio State game with my dad, and I told him, 'I want to play here one day.'" Head Coach's Comments: "He's an impact player," Detroit Country Day head coach Dan MacLean said. "He's a big strong guy who runs pretty well and catches the ball. He makes big plays. We throw the vertical pass to him and — not that he can't do the other things — that's been his area of expertise. "He's really improved in terms of being more physical throughout the course of the season. Just watching him and observing, he really has started to love football. He came originally as a basketball player, and he's done a fantastic job transitioning to football. I'm very proud of Mo."
