Favorite Pro Player: Houston Texas linebacker Brian Cushing and Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. Other Schools Considered: Ohio State, Stanford, Pittsburgh. Date Of Official Visit To Michigan: Dec. 13, 2013. QUOTABLE Brady Hoke's Comments: "Chase, out of the Pittsburgh area, is a guy who we think runs really well. He played a lot of positions and made a ton of plays at Thomas Jefferson. He played some quarterback, ran the ball at times, played some tight end. We think he's a guy who's really instinctive and gets to the football at linebacker." Tom Lemming of Prep Football Report: "I loved him when I went out to West- ern Pennsylvania before the season. He was already one of the best players in the region, then he had a knockout senior year. In my opinion, he's the best defensive player in Pennsylvania over [Michigan State safety signee] Montae Nicholson, who's more of an athlete. He really came into his own, and they got him commit- ted before that happened and everybody realized it. He really proved them right." Why Winovich Chose Michigan: "I talked to my friends and family, who were all really supportive about my decision, to help me through it. I took my other visits. I slept on it for a couple nights, and every night I kept having the same dream, about going to Michigan and playing for the Wolverines. It was clear that that was where I needed to be." Head Coach's Comments: "He is a kid who has done pretty much everything for us," Thomas Jefferson head coach Bill Cherpak said. "He is big. He can run. The thing about Chase is he plays every down. He will give everything he has every play. He practices that way, and he plays that way. He does everything as hard and as competitively as he can do it."
