14 ■ THE WOLFPACKER Spring practice begins on Tuesday, March 4, and our coaches and players are excited about getting started on the 2014 season. We have 15 practice opportunities, and our goal is to improve each and every day. The Kay Yow Spring Football game will be held on April 12 at 1:00 p.m., and we hope that Wolfpack Nation will make a great showing as always. Nine new players joined us at midyear and have quickly become a part of the Wolfpack football family. Having the chance to go through winter conditioning and spring practice puts these guys so far ahead of the nor- mal pace of a freshman and gives them a stronger chance to compete for playing time this fall. The other members of Pack14 will arrive on campus in June, and we are so excited about the class that we signed this year. Our class included 23 players who saw action in 66 state playoff games, 19 team captains, 11 all-state performers and seven state champions. We signed 11 players who were ranked among the top 35 in the state of North Carolina, and 27 of our signees were ranked in the top 100 nationally at their position by either Rivals.com, Scout.com or ESPN.com. This was a very important class in the building of our program. This group came together and made a decision that they are going to be the group that takes the program to the next level. More importantly, we signed young men with great character. I know that you will all be proud of how they represent NC State. 1Pack1Goal, Coach Doeren ■ From Head Football Coach Dave Doeren 14.Doeren Letter.indd 14 2/25/14 2:27 PM
