34 ■ THE WOLFPACKER FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE BY MATT CARTER W hen NC State head coach Dave Doeren was hired, he made it clear during his introduction press conference that he was a believer in the homegrown talent from the state of North Carolina. His actions since have backed up his words. By the time NC State was done with its 2014 recruiting class, Doeren's first full col- lection as the school's head coach, 16 in- state prospects had signed to play for the Wolfpack. Another two, linebacker Ty Lin- ton formerly of Charlotte Christian and long snapper R.C. Brunstetter of Davie County High in Mocksville, N.C., were also in the fold, bringing the total of incoming North Carolina natives to 18.
