ND SPORTS Irish Roundup HOCKEY (21-12-2) No. 11 Notre Dame won its first Hockey East Tournament game during its first year in the league. Notre Dame beat the Eagles in their most recent meeting, a 2-1 overtime win in the regular-season finale. Senior goalie Steven Summerhays allowed only five goals during a 5-0-1 stretch to finish the regular season, which gave the Irish a legitimate chance to earn an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. SWIMMING The men's and women's teams both finished their first ACC seasons in sixth place at the conference championship meet. Junior Emma Reaney starred for the women, winning three gold medals and setting an American record in the 200 breaststroke with her time of 2:04.34. Former All-American Zach Stephens won the 100 and 200 breaststroke races on the men's side as well. He and senior Frank Dyer (200 freestyle) were the Irish team's two winners for the men.
