The staff made it a prior- ity to get Rivals.com's eighth-ranked defensive tackle on campus, and from the sounds of things, Franklin and his assistants have put themselves in a solid position moving for- ward. "Coach Franklin is great, man. I really like what he's been telling me and I en- joyed watching them," Settle said. "Coach Spence [Sean Spencer] is a real cool guy, too. I love his passion and what he's been telling me. "They really showed me a lot of love [Saturday]. They took me around to see a lot and I know they were really busy, so I appreciated that. I enjoyed it." Settle's offer sheet is one of the best in the Mid-Atlantic region. Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC are just a few of the 40-plus programs that have ex- tended offers. He's also visited quite a few of those schools already, but this was his first time in Happy Valley. Penn State, he said, has "a lot of the things you expect at great schools. The stadium is excellent. I'm sure a lot of guys probably get stage fright playing there. I would love to get a chance to play at a stadium like that. It's huge." So, where do the Nittany Lions stand going forward? "I would say that they'll rank in my top 10, somewhere around there. I have a lot to think about still, a lot of schools I want to see, but it was a good trip." SETTLE B Y R Y A N S N Y D E R B L U E W H I T E I L L U S T R A T E D
