ND SPORTS season. Senior Greg Andrews continued his strong season in the No. 1 singles spot beating Miami's Omar Aly 6-1 and 6-0. WOMEN'S TENNIS (14-8, 7-6 ACC) Senior Day ended on a high note for Notre Dame, which beat visiting Virginia Tech 7-0 April 11 in the final home match of the season. With a 6-1 triumph at North Carolina State April 13, the Irish had won six straight matches (taking the first five 7-0). They wrapped up their regular season with a trip to Syracuse April 19. TRACK & FIELD Eight Notre Dame athletes posted one of the NCAA's 10 best times this season in their respective events during a trip to Stanford the first week of April. Senior Patrick Feeney (45.56 seconds) and junior Chris Giesting (45.62) sat second and fourth nationally in the 400-meter rankings as of mid-April. In addition, graduate student J.P. Malette had run the third-fastest 1,500 meters of the college season (3:43.03), while fellow graduate student Nick Happe had posted the top 5,000-meter clocking in the country (13:43.55). On the women's side, sophomore Margaret Bamgbose ranked fifth nationally with her time (52.74) in the 400 and teammate Michelle Brown (52.76) was seventh. Junior Jade Barber captured the women's 100-meter hurdles at the Stanford Invitational in 13.13, the eighth-best clocking in the country to date.
