Morgan wound up averaging 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament, while shooting 71.4 percent from the floor and making 11 of his 13 free throws. He was also Michi- gan's best defender, and as mentioned, its leader. Impact Freshman — Zak Ir- vin: The rookie just kept com- ing on through the course of the season, and didn't let down when the bright lights came on. He went 8-of-16 shooting in the tournament, including 6 of 12 from three-point range. Coming off the bench isn't easy for any shooter. Ir vin, though, kept an upbeat attitude about it, and vowed to redouble his efforts in the offseason to help Michigan take more steps forward in the days to come.
