FOOTBALL RECRUITING No. 106 overall player and No. 11 cor- nerback nationally, and Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne safety Tyree Kinnel, a four-star and the No. 188 overall player and No. 9 safety nationally in the class. Michigan may not even be done, with a recent offer to Waco (Texas) Midway High School safety Khalil Haughton. Although he's ranked as just a three- star prospect, a Michigan offer indi- cates serious interest in adding another defensive back to the class. Michigan put together the No. 51 pass efficiency defense nationally last fall. That's not where the program wants to be, and adding skilled play- ers is the path to a more stable defense. With the influx of talent under Hoke and his assistants, the improvement there should be most notable. Seeing those players off to the NFL will be another nice benefit. ❏ U-M Defensive Backs With Four Stars Or Better In Rivals.com Era Recruiting high-level defensive talent, particularly in the secondary, is not new to Michigan.
