MAY 2014 ■ 81 ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING ■ Wide Receiver There is a chance that NC State could be done at receiver after landing Brian Ses- soms from Winston-Salem (N.C.) Carver High. The plan was to sign one, but NCSU will continue to evaluate its needs through- out the summer. ■ Tight End The Pack signed three tight ends in the 2014 class, thus this position does not ap- pear to be a high priority for the Wolfpack. ■ Offensive Line Two big names in the state of North Car- olina highlight NC State's offensive line recruiting board. The Wolfpack would like to land up to three offensive tackles in the class. They already have one in Philip Walton from Charlotte Christian. The next domino to fall could be Emanuel McGirt from Dur- ham (N.C.) Hillside High. The 6-5, 270-pound McGirt has picked up offers from Miami, NC State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vir- ginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others, but this one could be shap- ing up as a UNC-NCSU battle. McGirt's parents and sister all attended UNC, but NC State was McGirt's first of- fer. He also chose to go to NCSU's spring game April 12 over UNC's. A decision from the three-star prospect is tentatively expected in June. That is around the same time that highly regarded center Brian Chaffin from Char- lotte Christian is expected to decide. Like McGirt, Chaffin attended State's spring game.
