BY ANDREW OWENS T he Atlantic Coast Conference has released the conference matchups for the next two years. For Notre Dame, the slates are highlighted by a home-and-home series with Duke next season. Duke and Clemson replace Virginia and North Carolina as temporary home-and-home opponents in 2014- 15. Miami and Wake Forest will have that role in 2015-16. The Irish will face their permanent home-and-home foes, Boston College and Georgia Tech, as scheduled the next two years. Next year, Notre Dame will also host Florida State, Miami, Wake For- est, Virginia and Syracuse. The Irish will travel to North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, ACC newcomer Louisville and Pittsburgh. In 2015-16, the Irish will welcome North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Louisville and Pitts- burgh to Purcell Pavilion. Road confer- ence games will include Florida State, Clemson, Duke, Virginia and Syracuse. N otre Dame's n on -con feren ce schedule also gained some clarity this spring. The program announced it would play Massachusetts and former Big East foe Providence in the 2014 Tip-Off Tournament Nov. 22-23 in Un- casville, Conn. As part of the ACC-Big Ten Chal- lenge, Notre Dame will host Michigan State at Purcell Pavilion Dec. 3. The traditional football opponents — the schools will not play on the gridiron in 2014 or 2015 — have not faced each other on the hardwood since 1979, when the Magic Johnson-led Spartans won 80-68 in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight on their way to the national title. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 59-35. "This is going to be a terrific early- season test for our players and a great non-conference home game for our fans," head coach Mike Brey said in a statement. "We're thrilled with the matchup on what will be an exciting and electric night of basketball in our building." Notre Dame lost 98-93 at Iowa in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge last season.
