Notre Dame's struggling baseball team played its first true home game of
the season May 9 when the team broke in its new FieldTurf playing surface.
Construction problems caused the team to barnstorm through Indiana and
Chicago during the first three months of the campaign. Notre Dame hopes
the installation process works out all the kinks and provides a preview for
when a new artificial surface is laid down in the football stadium this summer.
