FOOTBALL RECRUITING BY TOM LOY E ight class of 2015 recruits were com- mitted to Notre Dame through the second weekend in May, with another 14 to 17 expected to join them by Na- tional Signing Day on Feb. 4, 2015. There are plenty of recruits that have the Fighting Irish in their top 10-15 at this point, but Notre Dame, realistically, will not be in the final group for all of them. Here is a look at 10 targets, listed in likelihood of picking the Irish, that could commit to, and eventually sign with, Notre Dame over the next nine months. MILES BOYKIN WR/TE, 6-4, 212 New Lenox, Ill. (Providence Catholic) Junior Season: Caught 51 passes for 730 yards and 13 touchdowns. 247Sports Ranking: Four- star prospect, the No. 33 wide receiver in the country and the No. 3 recruit in Illinois. Skinny: Boykin has long been considered a lean to Notre Dame … The Irish offered March 1, during his visit to campus for junior day … Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State look to be Notre Dame's biggest competition to land him … Since his freshman year, Boykin said he has made 10 to 15 trips to South Bend … He is close friends with 2014 Notre Dame tight end signee Nic Weishar … Boykin is being re- cruited by Notre Dame as an athlete … Depending on size and growth, he will either end up staying at wide receiver or making the switch to tight end. TY'SON WILLIAMS RB, 5-11, 200 Sumter, S.C. (Crestwood High) Junior Season: Ran for 1,516 yards on 175 carries and scored 16 touchdowns. 247Sports Ranking: Three- star prospect, the No. 44 running back in the country and the No. 10 player in South Carolina. Skinny: Williams is ex- pected to make his first trip to South Bend June 20 for the Irish Invasion camp at Notre Dame … He is being recruited by run- ning backs coach Tony Alford, and the two have developed a close bond early on … Williams came out with a top five that included Notre Dame, Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina and Wisconsin, and it seems the Irish and the Gamecocks are the favorites to land his services … He would like to make a commitment in August before his se- nior season, which would be shortly after his first trip to South Bend.
