2014 BASKETBALL RECRUITING ISSUE "He's really cool," Towns said. "He's a funny guy. Normally we talk about basketball, but we don't have to. We talk about stuff that is going on through the week, any- thing." Towns holds a 3.9 GPA and is mostly enrolled in upper-level classes with juniors and seniors. He is receiving interest from Ivy League schools like Harvard and Columbia as well as other Big Ten teams like Iowa and Wisconsin. He is also hearing from Stanford. He holds scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, Air Force, Xavier and Dayton. "He is a hard worker, in the class- room and on the court," said Fred Moyer, Towns' coach with Always 100 Ohio Warriors. "He's outstand- ing … His best attribute right now is getting it off the catch and a one-dribble pull-up jumper. That's money when it's on." It's been on more than off so far this spring. Outlook: "Michigan is probably at the top right now," Towns said in May. "I love their program. I like how they use their young guys. When you see their freshmen, they already look good." The hometown Buckeyes are one school Towns would like to hear more from. They were the "dream school" growing up, but if they don't act soon, he could be blue by June. T.J. Leaf 6-9 • 210 • PF El Cajon, Calif. Foothills Christian High School Rivals.com No. 17 rising junior nationally Elite California kids are usually tough to lure from the West Coast, but T.J. Leaf isn't the typical Golden State boy. With roots in the Mid- west — Indiana, specifically — he's a Midwesterner at heart, with a dad who grew up rooting for the Hoo- siers and family still in the India- napolis area. Not surprisingly, then, Leaf has visited IU multiple times and still watches the program closely. He's already picked up offers from In- diana, Oregon, San Diego State, UCLA and many others, as well as S e t h To w n s , f r o m C o l u m b u s ( O h i o ) Northland, said, "Michigan is probably at the top right now," when asked about the schools that have offered him scholarships.
