As much as Mitchell appreciated the chance to
engage and learn from the president of his univer-
sity, President Sullivan was equally grateful for
the opportunity to interact and dialogue with her
interns and appreciated their contributions.
"Akil and his fellow interns distinguished them-
selves through their research, leadership skills,
and contributions to the operations of our office,"
President Sullivan said. "Akil committed fully to
our team, pursuing every intellectual opportunity
provided while balancing multiple demands as a
student-athlete." ◆
Mitchell finished his four-year career ranked third all time at UVa in games played (133), seventh
in rebounds (798) and tied for 14th in double-doubles (15).
