changed that mindset.
"That's not who I am or the person
I've always been. You have to compete
hard no matter where you go, and I
wasn't going to let that sway my deci-
sion or make me change where I want
to go. I didn't want to settle on a school
and go elsewhere because it was easier.
"I just decided that I'm going to go to
Notre Dame, work hard and show that
I'm the guy they want on the field."
Providence Catholic head coach Mark
Coglianese believes Notre Dame is get-
ting a special player in Boykin. Although
his talented receiver is good now, Cogli-
anese believes he's only scratched the
surface regarding his full potential.
"As good as he is, Miles has a lot of
upside," Coglianese said. "He's going
to get a lot better. He's already big and
fast, but Notre Dame is going to make
him bigger, stronger and faster. The sky
is the limit.
"He's a big receiver and a big target.
He has a large catching radius. That's
where college and even the NFL are go-
ing. They want big targets that can go
up and get the ball. That's exactly what
Miles does well.
"He doesn't look really fast, but he
really is. He has a very long stride, and
he'll definitely surprise you with his
speed.
"He's not afraid to block, and he's
actually become a really good blocker.
He's become much more physical and
tough. Notre Dame will also help that
and help him become even stronger and
make that one of his strong points."
As a junior, Boykin caught 51 passes
for 730 yards and scored 13 touch-
