ND SPORTS will see her team play half its regular- season games (15) against 14 teams that advanced to last year's NCAA Tourna- ment. This includes return encounters with both of their opponents at the 2014 NCAA Women's Final Four — defend- ing national champion Connecticut and Maryland, which departed the ACC this summer for its new home in the Big Ten Conference. The 16-game ACC slate includes home-and-home series with Boston College and Georgia Tech, and there will be a minimum of 18 TV appear- ances, including eight games on the ESPN family of networks. A phenomenal 37-0 start last sea- son ended with the national champi- onship game loss to the Connecticut dynasty that has won eight national titles since 1995 under head coach Geno Auriemma. Headlining Notre Dame's 10 return- ing monogram winners — six of whom have starting experience — is junior All-American guard Jewell Loyd, who averaged a team-high 18.6 points per game last year, second among return- ing ACC players. Loyd will be a Na- tional Player of the Year candidate in 2014-15. Sophomore point guard Lindsay Al- len, who earned Full Court Press Fresh- man All-America honors last season, led the ACC with a 2.24 assist-to-turn- over ratio. Junior guard Michaela Mabrey (8.6 points per game in 2013-14) and sophomore forward Taya Reimer (7.4 points per game) are among six Mc- Donald's All-Americans on the roster. They will help try to fill the void left 2014-15 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE Date Opponent (TV) Time (ET) Nov. 5 Ferris State^ 7 p.m. Nov. 14 UMass-Lowell 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at Michigan State TBA Nov. 21 Chattanooga 5 p.m. Nov. 23 Holy Cross# 5 p.m. Nov. 24 Harvard# 6 p.m. Nov. 25 Quinnipiac# 6 p.m. Nov. 30 vs. Kansas@ 1 p.m. Dec. 3 vs. Maryland& 7 p.m. Dec. 6 Connecticut!
