BASKETBALL RECRUITING unofficial visit and trip to Ann Arbor for football's home opener with Appa‑ lachian State Aug. 30. Beilein was in to see him during the week of Sept. 8, and U‑M appears to have a very good shot at the multi‑talented point guard. Win‑ ston averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 assists, 7.5 rebounds and 3.9 steals last year. DEVEARL RAMSEY, PG 5-11, 180 Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon Rivals.com's No. 47 junior nationally Ramsey holds offers from California, Auburn, USC, Arizona State, Florida State and Washington. Michigan, Ohio State, Louisville and Connecticut are also showing interest. Many of those were expected to drop by Sierra Can‑ yon during the evaluation period; Meyer did the week of Sept. 8. Ramsey was slated to see Michigan this sum‑ mer, but an injury prevented it. He still plans to get to campus, where he could well earn an offer. Ramsey averaged 9.9 points per game in 14 contests with Cali Supreme in EYBL play. He also averaged 2.9 points and dished 11 as‑ sists in seven games for the undefeated USA Under‑17 National Team at the World Championships in Dubai. QUENTIN GOODIN, PG 6-2, 170 Campbellsville (Ky.) Taylor County Rivals.com's No. 78 junior nationally Indiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma State and West Virginia are among Good‑ in's offers, and he showed out at the Michigan camp to earn one from U‑M June 15. He can shoot it, and though he's not as athletic as some of the other point guards offered, he has high bas‑ ketball IQ and can finish. Indiana and Marquette are up there with Michigan, his father, Chris, said in August. The Michigan coaches were slated to see him the week of Sept. 15. TYLER COOK, PF 6-8, 240 St. Louis Chaminade Rivals.com's No. 93 junior nationally Kansas, Alabama, Florida and Mich‑ igan coaches saw Cook during the Detroit U-D Jesuit point guard Cassius Winston, the No. 35 recruit in the junior class according to Rivals.com, has been on the U-M campus five times in the past few months, including an unofficial visit for the football team's season opener versus Appalachian State Aug. 30.
