have an o2er. PSU likes his skill set, but defensive end simply isn't a major posi- tion of need at the moment. Defensive tackle is more of a priority, so coaches will continue to keep tabs on Miller. It's no secret that Miller was leaning to- ward Penn State before the sta2 cooled earlier in the process. I've seen that be a turn-o2 in the past, but I believe Miller still wants to be a Nittany Lion, especially if he were to solidify an o2er. TIM SETTLE DT // Manassas, Va. // Stonewall Jackson Settle is currently a senior and thus is listed as a Class of 2015 prospect, but af- ter speaking with contacts and high school coaches, it looks as though Settle will be required to attend either a junior college or prep school next year. Due to that development, Settle's scholarship would likely count against the Class of 2016 at the school of his choice. If Penn State were to land his commitment, and he agrees to attend a prep school so his recruitment stays closed, that would be an ideal situation for the coaching sta2. At the moment, Settle has a top 1ve that includes Penn State, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Tennessee, but there's a chance that by the time signing day rolls around, a few of those programs could say, "Thanks, but no thanks," due to Settle's academic situa- killer year now, and I can't wait to be up there 1ghting for a Big Ten champi- onship with those guys next year." RYAN BATES "I'm excited. We knew it was happen- ing sooner or later. I think it is well-de- served. There is a bright future at Penn State." MANNY BOWEN "Once I heard the news, I went crazy because this is such a great thing for everyone involved with Penn State. That, and I can't wait to see us compete for this Big Ten championship this year." RYAN BUCHHOLZ "I think it's wonderful. I'm very happy for the team and the coaching sta2. They have been working their butts o2 and to be bowl eligible, that could give them a real boost. The additional scholarships are huge, too. This could be awesome for the 2015 class, as well as the 2016 class and so forth. There are a couple extra [prospects who] I know the coaches and commits would love to get, so now that they have the ability to [sign] these guys is very exciting." JAKE COOPER "I'm stoked about the bowl games. Now, I don't have to wait a year to go to a bowl game. Then we have extra scholar- ships to recruit [prospects who] we want, not worrying about how many we have le3. It's great for PSU." STEVEN GONZALEZ "This is a great thing for Penn State and I am really excited. Having all the scholarships back is great. We can add to our great class [that] we already have. Plus, now we're going to go win Big Ten championships and national champi- onships." MYLES HARTSFIELD "I think it's great and I'm glad the sanctions got li3ed. Now we can get back to the power [that] we should be." JARVIS MILLER "I kind of had a gut feeling that the sanctions would be li3ed, but it's really great being able to play in bowls. It kind of gives the team something to look for- ward to a3er a good season." AYRON MONROE "That's a big relief. It'll be great in re- cruiting. I know in my class, they had to start to turn guys down because of a lack of scholarships. As for the bowl games, that's awesome, especially for the guys there now who were punished for what happened when they weren't there."
