"First o;, you've just gotta be con:dent
in yourself that you know when that ball's
in the air, it's yours," he said. "Second,
you
have to be able to time the ball up
right. Sometimes, the DB, he jumps way
too early and then you can time it up and
go on top of him. You've just gotta have
strong hands coming down with the ball
because you just never know.
"If you've got strong hands and pull it
in, you should be the one coming down
with it."
Lewis has seemingly perfected the play.
When he's not proving that point in prac-
tice, he's doing it in games, as in the Nit-
tany Lions' opener in which he pulled in
a 79-yard touchdown pass and also made
a fantastic long reception, catching the
ball on the rebound as he fell to the turf.
"Big plays like that have always come
to me. Even in high school, it was the
same way. Some way, somehow," he said.
"Basically, you just have to be prepared
at all times because it just takes one play
for it to be a big play. I just try to be disci-
plined in my details and the things that
I'm
supposed to do, and usually it just
goes the right way.
"You've just gotta catch the ball at the
end of the day."
