he 2014 season had the makings of
one in which Notre Dame would
not depend on any single receiver
as its main option in virtually any situ-
ation.
Such a trend would have been a de-
parture from the first four seasons of
head coach Brian Kelly's Irish tenure,
when Michael Floyd (2010-11), Tyler Eif-
ert (2012) and TJ Jones (2013) developed
a stranglehold as the go-to receiver.
Sophomore wide receiver Will Fuller,
however, seems determined to join that
special group.
With another pace-setting perfor-
mance in the 50-43 win over North
Carolina — he snagged seven passes
for 133 yards and two touchdowns in
the offensive onslaught — Fuller has
separated himself from the receiving
corps as senior quarterback Everett
Golson's primary option, even if Kelly
isn't ready to publicly anoint him as
such.
"Right now, he's emerging as that big-
play guy," Kelly said. "We're looking
toward him a lot more. But we have
other pieces that really complement him
