inning the Big Ten champion‑
ship by three games would
open some doors for just about any
program. Advancing to the Elite
Eight a year after a trip to the na‑
tional championship game breaks
them down like a battering ram, es‑
pecially at a university with Michi‑
gan's national prestige.
U‑M head coach John Beilein and
his staff have taken full advantage of
their success. They landed a highly
ranked class of 2016 big man already
in Medina, Ohio, 6‑11 standout Jon
Teske (Rivals.com's No. 96 junior na‑
tionally), and they continue to make
inroads with some of the nation's
other top recruits.
One — class of 2015 standout
combo guard P.J. Dozier of Colum‑
bia, S.C., (6‑6, Rivals.com's No. 33
senior nationally) — took his official
visit to Michigan Sept. 27, and Beilein
did a great job setting it up, Perry
Dozier, P.J.'s father, said.
"He didn't really have to do much.
The program speaks for itself," he
said. "The assistants have done a
great job already. It's all about build‑
ing relationships."
