BY LOU SOMOGYI M inutes after the 31‑27 loss at No. 2 Florida State Oct. 18, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly avoided harp‑ ing too much on "The Call." With 13 seconds left in the contest and fourth‑and‑goal from the 2‑yard line, Irish senior quarterback Everett Golson found sophomore receiver Co‑ rey Robinson wide open in the flat for a touchdown. The play was then nulli‑ fied when back judge Pat Ryan flagged Notre Dame junior slot receiver C.J. Prosise for offensive interference — although Kelly said he was originally told the penalty was on sophomore wideout Will Fuller. Then on fourth‑and‑goal from the 18, Golson's desperation pass into the end zone was intercepted by Semi‑ noles linebacker Jacob Pugh, his sec‑ ond of the game. Official Review Brian Kelly miffed with wiped-out touchdown at Florida State After initially refusing to criticize the referees, Kelly made it clear how unhappy he was with the pass interference call that nullified a potential game-winning TD for the Irish against the No. 2 Seminoles.
