definitely going to be able to hold his position in the post both offensively and defensively in the ACC because of his natural strength. Some guys get that over a period of time by lifting weights, but he was that way naturally. "He seemed much more comfortable with mid- range jumpers this past summer than before when I had seen him," Pegram added. "He's also more confident overall and really showed off the in- stincts around the basket." A month later, with its 2015 class locked up, Virginia turned its attention to the class of 2016, and after hosting Jerome on a visit closed the deal with the 6-3, 175-pound guard from New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona Prep a couple of days later. He chose the Cavaliers over offers from Princeton, Rutgers, St. John's and Temple, and rising interest from several others. "Above and beyond anything else, I think Ty Jerome is a winner," Bossi said of the No. 119 player in the Rivals150 for 2016. "Not only that, he is tough. You see this relatively skinny kid who doesn't overwhelm you athletically and you don't expect toughness out of him but he has it." Though he has a ways to go physically, as a combo guard who can shoot and score there's a lot to be excited about in terms of his game at this point in his development. "I like that he seems comfortable and capable of making big plays in crunch time," Bossi said. "He can shoot, he has a pretty balanced offensive game, and he has a long and slender body that he can grow into." The run on combo guards in 2016 continued in late October when, once again following a stand- out visit to Charlottesville, the Cavaliers picked up a commitment from the 6-2, 165-pound Guy.
