MICHIGAN RECRUITING Despite a strong senior year, Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice quarterback Alex Malzone remains a four-star just outside the top 250 players nationally. In the 2016 class, Downers Grove (Ill.) South offensive tackle Erik Sw- enson dropped from No. 70 to No. 76 overall nationally. The drop came af- ter a year in which he was dominant, but his team was not. He made 130 pancake blocks during the course of a 6-4 season. Two in-state players for the Wol- verines made nice jumps. Detroit King wide receiver Donnie Corley moved up 137 spots from No. 226 to No. 89 nationally. U-M has offered him. Detroit Cass Tech linebacker Dae- lin Hayes dropped from No. 14 to No. 18, but picked up his fifth star from Rivals.com. He is currently committed to USC, but other schools are still pressing. ❑ Rivals.com rates U-M commit Tyree Kinnel of Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne as the No. 9 prospect in Ohio, the No. 15 safety in the country and the No. 211 overall player in the class of 2015.
