BOWL HISTORY The Pinstripe
Bowl was launched in 2010 follow-
ing the opening of the new Yankee
Stadium that summer. Syracuse de-
feated Kansas State, 36-34, in the
first bowl game to be played in the
Northeast since 1981. The Orange
won it again in 2012, defeating West
Virginia, 38-14, while Notre Dame
topped Rutgers, 29-16, last season,
laying claim to the George M. Stein-
brenner Trophy in front of a record
crowd of 47,122.
