FOOTBALL RECRUITING
BY TOM LOY
T
he Notre Dame coaching staff did
a terrific job with the nearly two-
dozen recruits that were on hand for
the program's annual end-of-season
awards banquet.
In addition to 13 of the 21 Irish 2015
commits as of mid-December, six top
targets from across the country were in
South Bend for the event. With Notre
Dame expected to sign as many as 25
prospects this cycle, this was the final
major recruiting weekend taking place
prior to National Signing Day on Feb.
4, 2015.
The top target in attendance was Las
Vegas Bishop Gorman four-star tight
end Aliz'e Jones, who has been com-
mitted to UCLA since Nov. 24, 2013.
This was the 6-4, 222-pounder's fourth
visit to South Bend and second since
his pledge to the Bruins.
There is a great deal of optimism
from sources close to the Notre Dame
program that Jones could flip to the

Las Vegas Bishop Gorman's Aliz'e Jones — the nation's No. 1 tight end according to 247Sports — has
been committed to UCLA since November 2013, but he was on hand for Notre Dame's awards banquet and
is a candidate to flip to the Irish.
