FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP Recruiting Notes • Two Notre Dame commits from the class of 2015 received good news during the second week of December. Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star cornerback Shaun Crawford and Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) High four-star linebacker Tevon Coney have been invited to play in the Under Armour All-American Game Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Crawford, a 5-9, 175-pounder, has wanted this invite since he was in the eighth grade. "This is so big," Crawford said. "It means so much to me. It's a great honor. I'm glad and proud to be known as an All-American. I'm looking forward to competing against the best of the best from across the country and showing exactly what I can do." Coney, a 6-1, 228-pounder, feels slighted by many recruiting analysts across the country, and he looks at this game as an opportunity to prove himself. "I just want a chance to show what I can do against the best of the best," Coney said. "I've wanted to play in an All-American game really bad and show what I can do. I just want to compete. "It's cool to know that I'm considered a great player and one of the best in the country, but this is just the beginning. I'm going to go out and make plays and show what type of player is coming to Notre Dame." Per 247Sports, Crawford is the No. 161 overall player in the country, the nation's No. 18 cornerback and the No. 7 recruit in Ohio in the class of 2015. He chose Notre Dame over offers from Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and many others. Coney is ranked as the No. 9 inside linebacker in the land and the No. 39 player in Florida from the 2015 class. He committed to play ball for the Irish over offers from Alabama, Florida, Miami, Tennessee and others. — Tom Loy Notre Dame commit and Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.)
