PSU The Lions lead the all-time series, 19-4. MOST RECENT MEETING The Eagles intercepted four Zack Mills passes en route to a 21-7 victory on Sept. 11, 2004. It was Boston College's third consecutive victory over Penn State, a streak dating to 1992. GOOD NEWS The Eagles are one of only two teams in the nation to be ranked among the top 15 in both rushing offense and rushing defense. BAD NEWS While BC has proven to have an effective rushing attack, its pass- ing game is anything but. It ranks 121st in the country, throwing for an average of just 132.0 yards per game. DID YOU KNOW? Boston College was invited to play in the original Gotham Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 15, 1962, after the Eagles finished the season with an 8-2 record. How- ever, university officials turned down the invitation due to finan- cial constraints. Instead, Ne- braska and Miami (Fla.) squared off in the stadium's first bowl game, and they drew about 2,000 spectators. M A T T   H E R B | M A T T @ B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . But just being present in the most celebrated venue in the history of American sports – or at least a modern facsimile built across the street from the original – isn't enough. "This year," Addazio said, "we're going aCer that bowl win." The Eagles were thrilled to be bowl-eligible a year ago in Addazio's first season in Chestnut Hill. They re- ceived an invitation to the AdvoCare V100 Bowl, but it might as well have been the Russell Athletic Bowl or the Belk Bowl or the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. The venue didn't much matter. Coming off a 2-10 finish in 2012 that had cost Frank Spaziani his job, the Eagles were happy to be going anywhere. In the
