2015 RECRUITING ISSUE BY ANDREW OWENS Following the departure of Stephon Tuitt to the NFL, Notre Dame lacked a true pass rusher in 2014 that con- sistently pressured opposing quarter- backs. The lack of pass rush, while not the primary reason, contributed to Notre Dame's woes during the second half of the regular season when it won just once. Enter New Orleans John Curtis three- star defensive end Bo Wallace. While Wallace is unlikely to contribute in 2015 so he can add weight to his 215-pound frame, he is the type of pass rusher the Irish coveted in this class. "[Strength and conditioning coach Paul] Longo and his staff will get to work with him," head coach Brian Kelly said. "We'll get him ready. But he can get to the quarterback. He can bend. He can get to the edge. We feel like we've got a guy that's going to be able to get to the quarterback in very short order. Love his intensity and the way he comes to play every day." Wallace visited for the North Caro- lina game Oct. 11 not expecting to com- mit, but he did just that the follow- ing day before heading home to River Ridge. "It is perfect for me," Wallace said. "It fits me. I've been in private school all my life. It's a perfect small Catholic school. Everything fit perfectly." While on campus, he called his Bo Wallace Provides The irish a sPeed rusher During his senior season, Wallace notched 52 total stops, 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks for state runner-up New Orleans John Curtis.
