STATISTICS • As a senior, racked up 91 tackles, 18 stops for a loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles and two blocked field goals. • Notched 83 tackles, 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles during junior season. Played sparingly at defensive end because of a soreness in his elbow, but was credited with two tackles in the East's 24-3 loss. • Participated in the Rivals Camp Series in April 2014 at Columbus, Ohio, and was selected as the MVP for his position group. • Invited to the U.S. Army National Combine in January 2014 and was listed No. 3 among the top OL/DL performers. RECRUITMENT • Committed to the Irish on June 8, 2014. • Chose Notre Dame over, among others, Boston College, Louisville and Miami (Fla.). • Primary recruiter for Notre Dame was defensive line coach Mike Elston. • Made his official visit to South Bend for the Football Awards Show on Dec. 12, 2014, plus took an unofficial trip to Junior Day on March 1, 2014. • Also took unofficial visits to Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Tennessee. NOTABLE • Born on Oct. 9, 1996. • Also plays basketball for Park Tudor, which he helped lead to a state title as a junior, and will do throws for the track and field team as a senior. • Plans to major in business or broadcasting. 2015 PROJECTION • With the returning depth along the defensive front, he is a good bet to redshirt. THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "[At our summer camp], we were just really impressed with his personal- ity, the way he played the game. … It didn't mat- ter what drill we were running, he was involved in it. We loved his want to, his desire and, for a big guy at that size, we love the fact that we could develop this guy into being a really, really good football player." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "He can be a nose guard. He's a monster of a guy. He hasn't played against the very best teams in In- dianapolis. Nobody wants to hear this, but he can be an outstanding offensive lineman and might be slightly better on offense. He can play tackle because he's about 6-5."
