THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "As a quarterback you have to have a presence, and he has an incredible presence and a leadership presence about him where he makes others around him better. He lights up the room. He's a thermometer guy. The temperature in the room rises when he's in it because he has such a great pres- ence about him." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "He may be the best player in the class. I watched his film at St. Peter's Prep and Paramus Catholic. Coaches had nothing but great praise for him as one of the best players to come out of New Jersey. He brought his game up to a differ- ent level as a senior and became a five-star player. He's definitely a five-star player now. He gives Notre Dame great depth at quarterback." St. Peter's head coach Rich Hansen: "He's a real ce- rebral kid. He has a passion for his craft. He's going to work very, very hard. His character and leadership abil- ity go along with the amazing physical talent he has." Why He Chose Notre Dame: "Just taking the visit and the academic standard they have. I feel like it's a differ- ent norm on their campus than at Penn State. I really fell in love with the campus and what they stood for."
