STATISTICS • As a senior, racked up 155 tackles (104 solo), six stops for loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception to help Ben Davis (12-2) win the 6A state championship. • Posted 106 stops, 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks as a junior. HONORS • Listed as a second-team All-American by Max- Preps.com as a senior. • Tabbed as the No. 2 overall player in the Mid- west by Scout.com. • Received first-team all-state accolades from the Associated Press as a senior. • Earned a spot on the 2014 American Family Insurance All-USA Indiana team. • Named the Indianapolis Star 's Mr. Football award winner at linebacker in 2014. • Named honorable mention all-state by the AP as a junior. ALL-STAR GAMES AND CAMPS • Saw action in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Jan. 3 in San Antonio. Contributed one tackle and a fumble recovery in the West's 39-36 triumph over the East. RECRUITMENT • Pledged to Notre Dame on Oct. 16, 2014. • Chose the Irish over Michigan. Also had of- fers from Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. • Primary recruiter at Notre Dame was defensive line coach Mike Elston. • Official visit to South Bend was for the Football Awards Show on Dec. 12, 2014, plus took unof- ficial trips on April 4, 2014 and June 12, 2014. • Also made unofficial visits to Michigan, Indiana and Northwestern. NOTABLE • Born on April 12, 1997. • Boasts a 4.16 GPA. 2015 PROJECTION • Like fellow in-state linebacker Josh Barajas, he needs to add weight to his 6-3, 210-pound frame but could see time on special teams. THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "Another long player at 6-3, 210 pounds … in the state championship game he played free safety. … [Has great] range; and just a super young man, comes from a great family." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "Has the potential to be a great player. He plays against the best teams in Indiana and dominates. He can make tackles from sideline to sideline and run a legit 4.6 — and he's as mean as you will find on the field. "He's a free safety-looking linebacker, about 205, but has the frame to be about 230 in a couple of years. I think that's how he can turn into a first- round draft choice."
