2015 RECRUITING ISSUE said, "but it wasn't going to stop me from playing for a state champion- ship." Often considered a future tight end in the making, Boykin said his speed can be deceptive. "I think I'm one of those players you have to see in person before you believe my speed," he said. "I don't look too fast on the film, but I'm pretty fast once you get a comparison. "Coaches have told me that when they came to my school to see me run routes, at the end they'd see me as a receiver and not a tight end." Just like how all along he was a foot- ball player caught in a basketball world. ✦ BGI FILM ANALYSIS: MILES BOYKIN Strengths Possesses an outstanding combination of size and speed … Runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 to 4.5 seconds … Due to his length, he has a tremendous catch radius and high points the football well … Does a good job of getting up the field after he catches the ball … Has the athleticism to make people miss in the open field … His hands are huge and it allows him to catch the ball with ease … A willing blocker, which will allow him to contribute early at receiver and tight end. Areas For Improvement Needs to become a more polished route runner … Has a great deal of success at the high school level due to his athleticism, size and lack of elite competition … Although he's 225 pounds, he's thin and needs to continue adding weight and strength.
