2015 RECRUITING ISSUE from high school early. While he got his coursework done off the field, he also excelled on the field. Dew-Treadway played both tackle and end for a Bolingbrook High team that went 8-4. He finished the season with 50 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and four forced fumbles. It's that production that Notre Dame coaches — especially defensive line mentor Mike Elston — hope will trans- late to the college level. "I switched to tackle my senior year, but I think Coach Elston has me at a 3-4 defensive end," Dew-Treadway said. "I would love to play both posi- tions, but it doesn't really matter to me. "I'm just excited to finally be here. It's kind of all just surreal. This is the greatest opportunity of my life for me and my family." ✦ BGI FILM ANALYSIS: MICAH DEW-TREADWAY Strengths Has a terrific frame … Features a thick, ath- letic build and should be able to add a lot of good weight and strength over the next 12 to 24 months … Has the versatility to stay on the edge at defensive end or slide inside and play tackle … Displays good initial quickness, and his overall speed is better than most his size … His effort is there, he just needs to be more consistent … Tackling ability is a plus. Areas For Improvement Needs to continue adding strength to his frame … Has a lot of good physical tools, but needs polish … Should provide quality depth initially and then compete for a starting job by year three in the system … Consistency of effort needs to improve … Hand technique will be coached up when he gets on campus.
