THEY SAID IT Brian Kelly's Comments: "Jalen had an incredible season in terms of numbers, off the charts. He was the go-to guy, playing at the highest competi- tion in the state of Texas. Just a breakout year. We see him as a versatile player that can play the X, the Z or the W." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "He's a good, steady player on both sides of the ball, but not as good as about three or four other players on his team. I've been to his high school twice in Allen, Texas. As a sophomore, he was playing defense." Allen Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach Jeff Fleener's Comments: "I couldn't think of a bet- ter player to fit the Notre Dame mold than Jalen. He's got a great work ethic — he works hard every day at practice. I couldn't be more excited for him and his future at Notre Dame." Why He Chose Notre Dame: "I went up there, and it was everything I thought it would be and more. It was a great campus and a perfect fit. It feels good to be Irish."
