W ith his promise to dominate recruiting in Pennsylva- nia, a promise issued several times at his introductory news conference in January 2014, James Franklin of- fered a bold vision for the future. While the rest of college football's heavy hitters would be looking to the South for their biggest recruits – a practice that Franklin was able to fully utilize at Vanderbilt – Penn State was going to turn its attention inward. It was go- ing to unite the state's high school coaches behind its e*orts, and with their support, top prospects were going to once again )ock to University Park. At the same time, the Nittany Lions were also going to priori- tize nearby states, drawing heavily on the program's history of success in pulling the best recruits from within a six-hour radius of campus. The formula seemed straightforward, at least on the day of PSU secures its homefront, and comes away with a top-notch recruiting class CLASS 2015
