P L A Y E R B I O S WHAT HE DID Robinson missed six games during his senior season due to a severe bone bruise in his knee, but he still managed to rush for 1,531 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games. Bishop McDevitt went 14-1 before losing to Central Valley, 26-21, in the PIAA Class AAA semi;nals. McDevitt went 55-7 during Robinson's four years with the team. He contributed as a freshman and started as a sophomore. WHAT HE WON In addition to his three-star ranking from Rivals.com, Robinson is rated the 40th-best running back in the country and the 10th-best prospect in Pennsylvania. He also received ;rst-team All-State recognition from multiple media outlets following his junior and senior seasons. WHERE HE VISITED Robinson earned 11 scholarship o=ers before committing to Penn State, including o=ers from Iowa, Maryland, Ohio State, Pitt, Rutgers and Virginia Tech. He at- tended games at Ohio State, Notre Dame and Pitt during the 2013 season before committing to Penn State last February. QUOTABLE Robinson: "I just think Coach [James] Franklin and Coach [Charles] Hu= are good guys. I think they're really going to make sure that Penn State is a top-;ve or top-10 program in the country. I really like them, I really trust them. I know these guys are going to have my back when I need them, even outside of football. I know they care about me as a student and as an individual, not just as a football player." FRANKLIN SAYS "Andre broke LeSean McCoy's and Ricky Watters' records at Bishop McDevitt. I like that. You're talk- ing about a guy who's been successful playing at a high level at a really good high school for a long time." PHIL'S TAKE Some analysts may be sleeping on Robinson because he missed a signi;cant portion of his senior season. I believe they are making a mistake. Robinson rushed for more than 2,300 yards as a junior and was named the PIAA Class AAA O=ensive Player of the Year. The only reason he didn't win that distinction as a senior is because of the bone bruise that kept him out for six games. He still rushed for more than 1,500 yards, so one can only imagine what his to- tal might have been had he remained healthy for the entire season. Robinson weighs over 200 pounds and runs with power between the tackles. He's one of several true and red- shirt freshmen who are expected to compete for playing time behind Akeel Lynch this fall. ANDRE ROBINSON RIVALS ★★★ POS RB HT 5-9 WT 215 HOME Mechanicsburg, Pa. SCHOOL Bishop McDevitt WHAT HE DID Stevens had a standout senior season, com- pleting 126 of 212 pass attempts (59.4 percent) for 1,891 yards. He threw 16 touchdown passes and only six intercep- tions. Stevens also led the team in rushing, racking up 842 yards and another 10 touchdowns on the ground. Including his junior season, Stevens passed for 3,417 yards, 29 touch- downs and 11 interceptions, while rushing for 1,627 yards and 17 touchdowns. WHAT HE WON Stevens led Decatur Central to its best sea- son in nearly a decade, an 8-3 showing that ended with a loss in the state quarter;nals to eventual IHSAA Class 5A cham- pion Indianapolis Cathedral. He was considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, the 18th-best dual-threat QB in the nation and the ;?h overall prospect in Indiana. He was also a ;nalist for the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year award. WHERE HE VISITED Stevens was originally committed to In- diana, but he began second-guessing his decision during his senior season. He took an uno>cial visit to Notre Dame in early October before taking an o>cial visit to Penn State at the end of the month for its game vs. Ohio State. A?er sitting on the decision for a few weeks, he
