year and has family connections
to the university. The competition
is fierce — with Clemson, LSU and
Penn State among those also in the
mix — but Michigan will be right in
the thick of things.
The top defensive end from within
the state's own borders may be a
long shot, with Farmington Hills
(Mich.) Harrison four-star Khalid
Kareem already making a commit-
ment to Michigan State (though he's
since backed off it). The Wolverines
will continue to press for the 6-4,
240-pounder, as well they should,
given his standing as the No. 13
weakside defensive end and No. 233
overall prospect in the nation.

Michigan whiffed on its linebacker
targets in the 2015 class, and given
that there was a need there, it will be
an area of focus in the 2016 class. The
Wolverines will need to add depth
and more importantly playmakers to
the roster.
Fortunately, a big grab is already in
the fold in the form of Elkton (Md.)
Eastern Christian Academy four-star
Dele' Harding. The 6-1, 232-pounder
Darien (Ill.) Hinsdale South four-star defensive end Josh King, the No. 4 strongside end and
No. 57 overall player nationally, has already made it to campus in Ann Arbor for a visit in
summer 2014.
