2015 RECRUITING ISSUE "The craziest thing was with Pur- due," Cole said. "They drive this train around, and they drove that train to my house. My family and me were just inside chilling and all of the sudden we just heard this loud horn honk. We go outside and there's the Boiler Up train sitting in front of my house. That was crazy. I didn't even know what to think about that." Cole's head coach at Heritage, Don Maloney, was along for the ride with the four-star athlete and as- sisted with the recruiting process. Cole has a great support system in place with his parents and also from Heritage alum — former All-Big Ten performer at Purdue and NFL player Stuart Schweigert, who has trained Cole since he was in seventh grade. Still, Maloney saw up close what the recruiting process was like for his talented playmaker. "I was involved with all of the coaches that came into the school," Maloney said. "They would come in and talk to me about Brian and watch his film with me. It was definitely busy and never really slowed down. He was a hot commodity for sure." Cole ended up committing to Michigan on July 26, 2014, surpris- ing many. He said that Michigan just gave him a feeling that no other school could match. "There's something different about Michigan," Cole said. "I committed to Michigan because I just felt at home. I just wanted to get to the next level and take that next step in my life. It was a little early, but it was the right thing for me. "I'm ready to help get Michigan back to the top. I don't know if it's going to happen this year, but in the next couple of years we are going
