NOTABLE Planned Major: Kinesiology. Favorite Michigan Athlete: Braylon Edwards. Favorite Pro Player: Former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders. Other Schools Considered: Wiscon- sin and Purdue. Date Of Official Visit To Michigan: Did not take one. QUOTABLE Jim Harbaugh's Comments: "Brian enrolled early, stepped into college life and has fit right into our program. He has a great demeanor and work ethic that comes from a great family unit. I know that his parents are ex- tremely proud of Brian, not only for the type of player that he is, but the type of respectful, high-character per- son that he is today. "Brian has worked hard and gotten off to a great start with his academic and football responsibilities. We can't wait to get into spring football and see how Brian develops as a player. He has a bright future as a member of our team. And, we at Michigan are fortunate to call him one of our own." Tom Lemming of Prep Football Re- port: "I thought he was one of the two best players in the state, along with Mike Weber. He was the Saginaw Player of the Year as a junior also. You can put him at wide receiver or safety; wherever he wants to play. He's a ter- rific athlete, and one of the better all- around athletes in the Midwest." Why Cole Chose Michigan: "I chose Michigan because of the family base and the academics. I just felt at home at Michigan, and I liked that my par- ents could make it to every game." Head Coach's Comments: "Brian is a special kind of athlete," Don Malo- ney said. "We asked him to do it all for us. He probably didn't develop as a wide receiver with us like he could have because we just put him all over the place. He played running back, we asked him to throw it sometimes, and he played all the time on defense and special teams too. I'm really excited to see how good he can be with top- notch coaches at wide receiver specifi- cally. He's explosive and can make big plays. His ceiling is limitless."
