36 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ 2015 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE BY MATT CARTER N C State announced its 22-player recruiting class Feb. 4, headlined by five Rivals.com four-star pros- pects, all of them hailing from the state of North Carolina and four ranked in the nation's top 250. The Wolfpack's haul includes seven players who were selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Caro- linas All-Star Game in Spartanburg, S.C., two who participated in the Semper Fidelis All-American Game in Carson, Calif., one who played in the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio, Texas, and two se- lected with one performer in the Of- fense–Defense All-American Bowl in Orlando, Fla. Two recruits were named Parade All-Americans, 13 made at least hon- orable mention all-state, and junior college transfer Daris Workman was a two-time all-conference performer for Contra Costa Community College in San Pablo, Calif. Here are complete bios on the 22 signees who officially joined head coach Dave Doeren's program. Eurndraus Bryant DEFENSIVE TACKLE North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester High • 6-2 • 335 pounds Measurables: At the Shrine Bowl Combine held at Summerville (S.C.) High, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds and the shuttle in 5.06 seconds, had a 7-3 standing broad jump and did 32 reps at 185 pounds on the bench press. Stats: As a senior had 65 tackles (32 solo), 19.5 stops for loss, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles … As a junior, piled up eight sacks. Ratings: Given two stars by Rivals.com … Rated by Scout.com as a three-star player, the No. 81 defensive tackle in the country and No. 18 prospect in South Carolina … Listed by 247Sports as a three-star recruit, the No. 78 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 15 player in his home state … Ranked by National Un- derclassmen as the No. 26 prospect in the Palmetto State … Rated No. 14 in South Carolina by Athlete Vault … Ranked as the No. 24 recruit in his home state by High School Sports Report. Honors/accomplishments: Selected to play the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All- Star Game and recorded six tackles, including game-high totals of 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, plus had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery … Rated by Rivals.com as the sixth-best performer in the game for the victorious South Carolina squad and the eighth-best player overall for the week … Picked by the High School Sports Report for the Statewide All-State Defense First Team … Named the Dorchester County Defensive Player of the Year as a senior by Summerville Communications … Also named first-team all-county by The Gazette … Plays left field in baseball, earning all- region honors last year after hitting .490, and has led the team in homers the past two seasons. Recruitment: Interest increased after his Shrine Bowl performance and improved grades … Picked up offers from East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Kentucky and Wake Forest, and had an in-home visit with Georgia … Committed to NC State on Feb. 3 after visiting the previ - ous weekend, becoming the last member to join the class. Recruiter of record: Running backs coach and re- cruiting coordinator Des Kitchings. Dave Doeren on Bryant: "He's an explosive big man that does a lot of things. He actually plays tailback in their goal-line short-yardage package, which reminded me of Refrigerator Perry [former Clemson and Chicago Bears defensive tackle Wil- liam Perry, who would occasionally carry the ball] when I was watching him on film." Scouting report: Possesses imposing athletic potential and reportedly can bench press 405 pounds and squat 690 pounds … Has potential to be a disruptive nose tackle in college … Will need to get conditioned. 2015 projection: If he can shed enough weight and condition himself well enough, he has a chance to get on the field quickly.
