44 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ 2015 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE For all the latest recruiting news, visit us at THEWOLFPACKER.COM Aaron Wiltz OFFENSIVE LINEMAN Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic High 6-5 • 275 pounds Ratings: Tabbed as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com … Ranked by Scout.com as a three-star prospect and the No. 127 defensive end in the country … Listed by 247Sports as a three-star talent, the No. 92 offensive guard in the country and the No. 87 player in Louisiana … Regarded by ESPN as a three-star player, the No. 92 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 48 prospect in the Bayou State. Honors/accomplishments: Selected first-team 5-5A All- District as a senior … Picked honorable mention Class 5A All-State by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association … Named first-team All-Metro by The Advo - cate … Also wrestles and placed fourth at the D-I state tournament as a senior heavyweight. Recruitment: Originally made a verbal commitment to Central Florida over offers from Cincinnati, Houston, Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss, among others … Took official visits to NC State (Dec. 5), which offered in November, and Central Florida (Dec. 12) … Switched his pledge to the Pack Dec. 14. Recruiter of record: Offensive line coach Mike Uremovich. Quotable: "Aaron is 270 pounds, but he's still a lean guy who looks like he's about 240. I think he's going to be a heck of a college player." — Catholic head coach Dale Weiner to The Advocate. Dave Doeren on Wiltz: "He's tremendously athletic, a great wrestler, and 6-5, 275 and very lean at that weight. He'll be able to fill out really quick. He's a great student that comes from a program that has put a ton of players out there. When you talk about the state of Louisiana and where players have gone that are in the NFL, a lot of good players come from Catholic High School." Scouting report: Played primarily guard until his senior season … Impressed in making his transition to offensive tackle this past season … Reportedly moves his feet well, but needs to get stronger and fill out his frame. 2015 projection: The safe bet is that Wiltz will redshirt, but he is also likely to get an extended look during preseason camp due to the position battle at of - fensive tackle. Daris Workman OFFENSIVE LINEMAN San Pablo (Calif.) Contra Costa C.C. 6-6 • 280 pounds Ratings: Ranked by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect and the No. 80 junior college player in the country … Listed by Scout.com as a three-star tal- ent and the No. 99 junior college player in the nation … Ranked by 247Sports as a three-star recruit, the No. 156 junior college player in the country and the No. 21 junior college offensive tackle in the nation … Regarded by ESPN as a three-star player and the No. 17 junior college offensive tackle in the nation. Honors/accomplishments: Selected first-team Region II All-California by the California Community College Football Coaches' Association in 2014 … Named first-team all-conference both as a freshman and sophomore … Also plays basket- ball and averaged 7.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a freshman at Contra Costa … Native of Greensboro, N.C., where he played at Dudley High School. Recruitment: Also picked up interest from Virginia Tech, Iowa State, BYU, Utah State and New Mexico, among others, during the fall … Verbally committed to NC State while on an official visit Oct. 11 … Has three years to play two. Recruiter of record: Offensive line coach Mike Uremovich. Quotable: "Workman looks to have a pretty fitting name as he is not real flashy or wows you in any way, but he can work and get the job done as both a run and pass blocker. Needs to continue to develop physically and technically, but solid line prospect that should be able to come in and at least offer quality depth." — ESPN. com scouting report. Dave Doeren on Workman: "Daris is a great athlete and has tremendous upside with his background in basketball. It's hard to find 6-7 guys with great feet that want to be football players." Scouting report: Played primarily left tackle at Contra Costa … Has an im - pressive frame to continue filling out … Will need to add weight and get stronger. 2015 projection: The Pack has an opening for an immediate contributor at of- fensive tackle. It would have helped Workman if he had been able to enroll for the spring semester, but he still has a higher level of experience over some of the other incoming options. Workman is a candidate in the mix for a starting tackle position. Philip Walton OFFENSIVE LINEMAN Charlotte Christian High • 6-7 • 260 pounds Ratings: Ranked by Rivals.com as a three-star talent and the No. 32 player in North Carolina … Regarded by Scout.com as a three-star prospect, the No. 147 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 43 player in his home state … Listed by 247Sports as a three-star recruit, the No. 116 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 30 player in North Carolina … Rated by ESPN as a three-star player, the No. 174 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 55 prospect in his home state … Tabbed as the No. 20 player in North Carolina by National Underclassmen … Ranked as the No. 44 prospect in the state by The Fayetteville Observer. Honors/accomplishments: Selected first-team North Carolina Independent Schools Division-1 All-State as a senior … Helped lead team to third straight state title … Named second-team All-Observer by The Charlotte Observer … Carries a 4.1 grade-point average in the classroom … Was a competitive swimmer until three years ago, switching to football … Member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. Recruitment: Was NCSU's second verbal commitment, picking the Pack April 1 over an offer from Marshall … Took his official visit to NC State Jan. 16 … Becomes the fourth Charlotte Christian product to enroll at NCSU since Dave Doeren was hired. Recruiter of record: Tight end/fullback coach and special teams coordinator Eddie Faulkner. Quotable: "He's a raw player, just as far as his snaps at offensive line, and I think that's a good thing. They're going to be able to get a guy in and mold him the way they want to mold him for what they do. He's a long, lean, extremely intelligent kid who is strong and will work his butt off for them, I know that." — Christian head coach Jason Estep. Dave Doeren on Walton: "He came up on a visit in his cowboy boots and cowboy shirt, was long and muscular, and I said this guy has a chance. They moved him to offensive line, and we knew about him from the beginning. He's definitely a guy that will have to develop and continue to learn how to play the game, but he has unbelievable tools." Scouting report: Newcomer to football who is in his third year in the sport … Has the frame and foot speed that offensive line coaches like for offensive tackle … Needs to get stronger. 2015 projection: Of the three high school offensive tackles that are joining NC State, Walton is the most raw and thus most likely to redshirt.
