Penn State signee Teniya Page is one
of the 24 players who have been se-
lected to participate in the inaugural
Jordan Brand Classic girls' game,
which showcases the nation's top high
school seniors. The Jordan Brand
Classic will take place April 17 at the
Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
A 5-foot-7 point guard out of Mari-
an Catholic in Chicago, Page also
added first-team Associated Press
All-State Class 4A honors to her list
of accolades. She is the 21st-ranked
prospect by both ESPN/HoopGurlz
and the Collegiate Girls Basketball
Report, and is ranked 17th by Blue
Star Basketball, 20th by Prospect Na-
tion and 26th by the All Star Girls Re-
port.
Named an honorable mention High
School All-American by The Sporting
News heading into her senior season,
Page scored 1,135 in her first three
years with the Spartans. As a junior,
she accounted for 14.4 points, 4.7 as-
sists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals per
game to help Marian Catholic to a 28-
5 overall record, an East Suburban
Catholic Conference championship
and a third-place finish in the Illinois
High School Association Class 4A
Basketball Tournament.
Page scored a game-high 31 points
and added five assists in her final high
school game, a 62-51 loss to Home-
wood-Flossmoor in the Lincoln-Way
North sectional championship game
Feb. 26. She scored all 19 of Marian
Catholic's points in the second quar-
ter, hitting 6 of 8 attempts with two
free throws and a pair of assists.
"Teniya kind of put the cape on to
keep us in the game," Marian Catholic
coach Dan Murray told The Beverly
(Ill.) Review. "It just never seemed like
we could get everyone in the flow of
the game."
Another Penn State recruit, Jaylen
Williams, helped lift Archbishop
Williams High to a Massachusetts
state championship in March. Bounc-
ing back from an ACL injury that
forced her to miss her junior season,
Williams, a 6-3 post player, was a
standout for the Bishops, who ended
their season with a 69-46 victory
over Hoosac Valley in the Divison 3 fi-
nal. Williams finished her career with
a double-double, totaling 10 points
and 10 rebounds in the victory.
and I'm excited to see it unfold."
Under Washington, the Lady Lions won
three consecutive Big Ten regular-season
titles, the last coming in 2014. It was the
:rst time in the 51-year history of the
program that Penn State won three con-
ference titles in a row. The team has also
produced three All-Americans in Wash-
ington's eight seasons: Maggie Lucas, Alex
Bentley and Tyra Grant, with Lucas also
winning Big Ten Player of the Year honors
her junior and senior seasons.
The Lady Lions have recruited three
top-15 classes under Washington (2009,
'13 and '14) and have signed :ve McDon-
