with seven assists while committing zero turnovers, hauling in five rebounds and recording four steals.
The Irish trailed 26-17, but 14 first-half points by Mabrey (4 of 4 from three-point range) and a flagrant
foul call on Baylor helped the Irish to a 39-37 halftime advantage. Baylor led 54-53 before a 12-4 Irish run
led by Allen and senior Madison Cable, who provided strong defense while scoring six points, grabbing
six rebounds and blocking two shots.
April 5: Notre Dame 66, South Carolina 65
Cable grabbed an air ball and scored the go-ahead bucket on a soft six-foot turnaround with 20 seconds
left. The Irish defense then harangued South Carolina All-American guard Tiffany Mitchell into a despera-
tion shot that fell way off and resulted in a 22nd-straight victory, this time versus the No. 3 Gamecocks.
The frenetic ending seemed unlikely when Notre Dame held a 64-52 advantage, but then the Irish went
7:30 without scoring. The taller Gamecocks took their first lead of the game, 65-64, with 1:12 remaining.
Loyd finished with 22 points, Turner tallied 17 points to go with eight rebounds and three blocked
shots, and Reimer converted 7 of 10 field goal attempts for 16 points. She also snared six rebounds and
blocked three shots. Notre Dame converted 12 of 14 attempts from the free throw line, while South
Carolina made only 7 of 16.
